Project Manager—£300/day

Location: London

Job Description:

Our government client is seeking an interim project manager to support the delivery of their Business Support Programme, which forms part of the Council’s corporate transformation portfolio. The Business Support Programme has been established to manage the creation of a new Business Support service, providing professional administrative support to all Council departments on an SLA basis. The new service was successfully launched in September this year and has already achieved financial savings of over £2m per annum. The interim project manager will work closely with the Head of Business Support to stabilise the new service and achieve further financial savings.
3 months contract offered until 31 Jun 2016. However, subject to the satisfactory performance of the postholder, it is likely to be extended beyond this date.

Candidates should have:
– Mininum 5yrs prior experience of project managing transformational programmes and projects within a local authority environment
– Excellent stakeholder engagement skills – a proactive and flexible approach, willing to roll their sleeves up and get the job done
Additional Skills;
– Ability to priotise work load
-Previous team lead experience
-Effective communicator
-Ability to successfully plan, manage and communicate project issues and associated risk
-Ability to manage project using Prince-2 project methodology.
